The Cult of Fools – Divide between reality and Fantasy – May 30, 2021

fools

The Partisan divide is no longer a split between left and right, it has morphed into something far more sinister. It is now a divide between reality and a complete fantasy. I’m not alone in thinking this, some rather notable individuals hold this view …

The problem is not one or two lone cranks spewing nonsense. Instead, it is the observation that literally millions have been successfully sold an outright lie and now embrace it as “truth”. The GOP has become GQP and is no longer the party it once was, it has been hijacked by nutters, and is now quite literally a party opposed to fundamental democratic principles.

To illustrate all this let’s take a brief look at what has popped up during the past week.

What you will find below is utterly bizarre and weird. So how should we respond, with anger and despair perhaps?

No, not at all. The best response is to mock and laugh at them. They are evidently quite determined to wear a clown suit, so mockery is entirely appropriate.

COVID-19

  • Greg Locke used his sermon Sunday to urge his congregation not to get the COVID-19 vaccine and even offered to provide a “religious exemption” to any member that wants to sue their employer for requiring vaccination.
    • Greg is doing his very best to maximise the chances of his congregation dying.
    • This is already literally happening. Coburn Kennedy, an attendee of Locke’s church, died from Covid-19 on April 13.
  • Stew Peters and DeAnna Lorraine are happy that people are still wearing masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19 because it makes it easier for them to avoid these “dirty, morbidly obese, disease-infested scum”: “They’re the real lepers, and they need to be treated as such.”
    • She believes COVID-19 is a hoax, and yet she also thinks that people who wear masks are “disease-infested scum”. How that that bit of doublethink work?
    • I’m really not kidding, she has become convinced that those who have gotten a COVID-19 vaccine “are radioactive!”, she is that disconnected from reality.
  • David Lane declares that “when the masks and face coverings last year came on, it paradoxically showed the real face of our supposed leaders and rulers in all its sanctimoniousness and rapacious lust for power. The yearning for power over others with its inevitable, destructive abuses reached in no time epidemic proportions. One of its most destructive effects were on man’s humanity to man.”
    • For a guy who claims to be pro-life, his thoughts on protection against a virus that has killed over half a million are quite frankly bizarre. With a stance like this he is clearly pro-death.
  • Marjorie Taylor Greene Now Claims She Never Compared Mask Mandates to the Holocaust.
  • Arizona state Senate Majority Whip Sonny Borrelli is “offended” by those who vote by mail, telling them to “get off your lazy ass and go and vote” in person.
    • Indeed yes, let’s get out there are share all that COVID-19, why keep it to yourself at home?
  • Pat Robertson accuses Dr. Anthony Fauci of being responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic and says there is no punishment too severe for him.
    • List of things that Pat Robertson has identified as being responsible for COVID-19 – Gay Marriage, Abortion, etc…
    • Whenever something bad happens, up pops Pat to claim that it is the punishment of God for X. I’m really not convinced that Pat has a solid grasp of cause and effect, so when he pops up to spout conspiracy theories, not too many are buying except perhaps his deeply gullible donors.

Unintentionally Funny

  • Angered over Capital One’s opposition to Georgia’s recently passed voter suppression law, Scott Lively posted a video in which he cut up his Capital One credit card.
    • He thinks this is an effective and meaningful protest. He is instead giving Capital One free advertising that highlights that they are pro-democratic and decent.

What could possibly go wrong?

Truly Bizarre

  • Marjorie Taylor Greene, Source of Anti-Semitic Conspiracy Theories, Refers to Palestinians and AOC as ‘Terrorists’
    • Whenever something happens in the world you can more or less guarantee MTG will pop up with some bizarre claim in an attempt to monetise it into a soundbite designed to generate more donations.
  • Pat Robertson warns that if the United States stops selling weapons to Israel, “we as a nation will suffer the curse that God placed on those who would curse Abraham.”
    • I have absolutely no idea why he thinks the extreme right-wing regime currently in power on a tiny spec of land on a grain of dust within the vast universe has the support of a supernatural entity that supposedly created the entire universe.
    • Also have another question. How exactly is not giving them weapons to slaughter their neighbours with, a way to “curse” a fictional character called “Abraham” within some religious mythology.
  • Amanda Grace has uncovered the political significance behind the fact that the Preakness Stakes horse race was won by “a German-named horse”: “Who else do we know is of German descent? Donald Trump.”
    • This strategy appears to be on par with divining the will of the gods by reading chicken entrails.
  • Laurie Roth claims to have spoken with a high-ranking military source who confirmed that Trump is still secretly president.
    • Yes, this is the lady who had a Presidential bid about 10 years ago.
    • Evidence for her claim being a fact and not simply something she made up? Absolutely nothing at all.
  • Lance Wallnau asserts that he has risked his life for Trump, whom he declares to be a leading general in God’s army, “like Patton hitting Hitler in Bastogne.”
    • How exactly has he actually “Risked his life for Trump”? I do of course acknowledge that he has risked and completely lost his credibility for Trump.

Fools of the week – The False Profit$

The stars of this weekly show are of course the religious grifters. To be wholly clear, most humans, regardless of their cultural belief or non-belief are decent. Some however deploy and leverage belief as a tool to manipulate and enrich themselves with. This section is very much dedicated to these con artists …

  • Self-Proclaimed ‘Prophet’ Robin Bullock Says Those Who Mock Him Will Be Driven Insane by God
    • Mocking this grifter for his failed predictions that he guaranteed is wholly appropriate. When it comes to a clinical diagnosis of sanity, I’m not exactly convinced that the guy who proclaims himself to be “the mouthpiece of God” has a solid grasp reality. He is the guy who is telling you that the voices in his head is god speaking to him.
  • Sidney Powell appeared on “The Jim Bakker Show” Monday, where she declared that George Soros, the media, the government, and “the globalists” are trying to destroy the United States.
    • Jim has guests like this every week to scare people into buying his overpriced survival food buckets.
    • Jim himself also earns a spot below this week.
  • Jim Bakker Claims His Imprisonment for Fraud Was an Example of ‘Cancel Culture’
    • They “cancelled” his ability to defraud gullible people. After being in jail for fraud, here is in back on TV doing the same, but this time he knows how to defraud legally.
  • And also Jim Bakker keeps falsely declaring that he prophesied the COVID-19 pandemic on New Year’s Eve 2020.
  • Jeff Jansen prophesied that the military would remove President Joe Biden from office and reinstall former President Donald Trump in the White House by the end of April. That obviously didn’t happen, but Jansen continues to insist “there’s a Trump administration that’s coming back into power very, very quickly.”
    • How many failed predictions will it take for his gullible followers to wise up that he is running a con.
  • Hank Kunneman continues to use his church services to rant about the 2020 election, insisting that former President Donald Trump won and now “deserves seven more years [in office] because you already stole one.”
    • Hank, the self-appointed false prophet whose predictions never come true, has very clearly built a four-lane interstate highway right through the wall of separation between church and state for his beloved messiah that currently lives in Mar-A-Lago. He really wants a second coming.
    • Least you wonder, Hank Kunneman continues to insist that his prophecies that former President Donald Trump would win reelection in 2020 were correct.
  • Donna Rigney claims that God will soon restore former President Donald Trump to the White House because he wants Trump in power for when a coming “Great Awakening” sweeps the globe.
    • Translation: “I’m saying the stuff you wish will happen by pandering and stroking your delusions, so send me your $$”
  • Dave Hayes (aka “The Praying Medic”) continues to insist that the military will launch a coup to remove President Joe Biden from office: “The military is the last line of defense against tyranny, and I think they’re going to be forced to step in.”
    • Somebody needs to advise Dave who the official military commander-in-chief actually is.
  • Kat Kerr reports that she has sent 100 million angels to protect Israel: “That army is an army of Heaven that I command.”
    • Her 100 million are as effective as none at all.

That’s a wrap for this week.

Will next week be any different, is it possible for all these crazy people to suddenly find some common sense?

Nope, most are too deeply invested. They can’t jump off crazy train as it continues to roll over a cliff into an abyss.
