Zimmerman … “It Was God’s Plan For Me To Kill Trayvon Martin”

George Zimmerman thinks that God planned for him to shoot and kill Trayvon Martin …

… and apparently the jury agreed because he walked free from a Florida courtroom late on Saturday after a jury acquitted the neighbourhood watch leader of murdering an unarmed black teenager, Trayvon Martin, in a case that played into the national debates about race, civil rights and the proliferation of guns in US society.

He actually thinks “god” planned the shooting of a 17 year old kid by him … seriously! …

Yes … seriously, here he is on Fox News saying so about a year ago

These are the exact words:

Hannity: “Is there anything you regret? Do you regret getting out of the car to follow Trayvon that night?”
Zimmerman: “No sir.”
Hannity: “Do you, regret that you, you had a gun that night?”
Zimmerman: “No sir.”
Hannity: “Do you feel that you wouldn’t be here for this interview if you didn’t have a gun?”
Zimmerman: “No sir, I, I–”
Hannity: “You feel that you would not be here.”
Zimmerman: “I feel that it was all God’s plan, and for me to second guess it, or judge it, um…” (shakes head)
Hannity: “Is there anything that you might do differently, in retrospect, now that time has passed a little bit?”
Zimmerman: “No sir.”

Ah, so that’s OK then … since “God” planned it all, he does not need to accept responsibility for his own actions, and the consequences of those actions. In fact why did we bother with a trial at all, just accept whatever happens as the will of the magic pink invisible pink unicorn, jebus, or whatever imaginary god you prefer.

It would also now appear to be legal in Florida to chase people around and shoot them dead as long as you can demonstrate that you were suitably paranoid enough to believe the victim is going to kill you after you chased after them and then escalated a fist-fight into a gun fight … oh and only if the victim is black.

  1. This post reveals a lack of understanding of the Florida legal system. The prosecutor should have gone for a lesser charge. 2nd degree murder was never going to be proven beyond reasonable doubt in this case according to the law. The jury returned the only verdict they could justly return, according to the evidence presented and the charges levelled. You don’t have to like that, but a little more research into the case and FL law may have prevented that feelings-based last paragraph.

    • Reasonable doubt would apply to ANY charge levied against him, and of course he was not guilty of any crime by reason of self defense. Trayvon died in the commission of a felony, and good riddance.

  2. Do you have any evidence that backs up your claim that this tragedy was racially motivated?
Do you have any evidence that establishes Zimmerman as a racist?
Mr. Martin’s girlfriend claims he referred to Mr. Zimmerman as a creepy cracker. While I don’t get my panties in a bunch by being referred to as a cracker I damned sure know it has the same meaning as the word we shall not speak…
