Weekly Weird News –

weirdAs I gaze across the religious right-wing landscape, I can’t help be wonder if there is sufficient material out there to make an entire career for multiple psychologists attempting to grapple with the outlandishly eccentric and quite delusional individuals that devote their lives to the promotion of the absurd and the bizarre.

The majority of humans are religious to one degree or another – this is not about them. Instead it is a weekly posting dedicated to throwing a spotlight upon that small faction who take belief to an entirely new place, one where reality is a far and distant land that is way over the horizon and firmly embedded in Narnia.

What Happened during the past week?

Finally let’s finish with this …

He was supposedly speaking in tongues to protect Trump from witches, but hey look it worked, no witches, or unicorns, or pink flying lions, so it much have worked. The real kicker here is that the bible explicitly says that it is a sign for those that do not believe. Those of us that do not believe actually do get it, and we can indeed read this sign. It very loudly proclaims “Here be a nutter”. For ref I wrote a posting a few years ago (see here) on speaking in tongues – spoiler alert, it is not supernatural.

The Highlight of the week

The Popes visit to Ireland resulted in 500,000 tickets being distributed and then only 130,000 turned up. The vast majority opted to not go as a silent protest against the abuse and coverup decade after decade.
