Yep, it finally happened, they booted me out.
Knowing how “tolerant” Islam can be at the very best of times, I guess in many ways I expected it would come at some point, but in the end the crime I was booted out of the public Facebook forum was for “talking” about it in another Facebook group. Yes indeed, I can hear you gasp in awe at the truly hideous nature of my crime. OK, so what the story here?
There exists a group called, “Atheism Debunked by Bangladeshi Muslims“. (Warning the house rules read like war and peace … very long). Oh, come on now, the very arrogance of the name itself just begs for a bit of attention. They have been running since July and claim to be the fastest growing group with 4700 members. I did point out that when Stephen Colbert started a group, he managed 1,000,000 in a week, so the term “fastest” was a tad exaggerated. The admin replied and advised that for its type, it was the fastest. OK, so yes, for groups of Bangladeshi Muslims attempting to debunk Atheism, yep its the fastest and biggest, but also the smallest and slowest as well.
What you find in there, can at the best of times be truly silly. So what else did you expect, reasoned debate perhaps? Nope, not a chance. I blogged about some of the silliness both here, and also here. One commenter also reminded me of some other howlers that I missed …

In the end the statistics are something like this:
- Amount of atheism actually debunked – zero, nada, none
- Amount of truly silly claims presented with zero evidence – way too many to even begin to start counting
OK, so why did they boot me out? First a bit of history. As you might imagine, there are indeed times when folks lose their rag and abuse flies, and when that happens, if it’s a Muslim, the admin turns a blind eye to it, yet if it’s an Atheist, they get booted out. It is quite common for Muslims to revert to “You are a stupid dick head” or similar when you point out their lack of evidence in any debate. If you complain to the administrator, his response is to make the culprit an administrator as well!!!. So in that context, this appeared from the primary Administrator Mufassil Islam

(Yep, his caps lock key is apparently stuck). I pasted a copy of that into “Atheist Bangladesh” commenting that “the lunatics have been given the keys to the asylum“.It was spotted, and Muffasil demands, “U HAVE 5 MINUTES TO DELETE MY POST FROM THE OTEHR ROON=M OR U WILL BE BANNED”. To which I replied, “I don’t bow to tyrants“, and so he banned me.
Now that perhaps says it all. It’s a public forum, yet when I dare to post some nonsense to another forum, the Islamic mind cannot cope. Personally, I not too bothered about that, he is simply embarrassed and so banned me for making such nonsense a bit more public, I get that. It is also his group so he can do what he likes, I get that as well. No, instead what really is quite disturbing here is that he publicly declared himself to be incapable of treating all humans equally because of his beliefs. It revealed a view in which there are “Muslims” who can be trusted and everybody else who cannot. This is truly disturbing, because it says oh so much about what is wrong with Islam and belief in general.

Very nicely written David. I too joined that group, as the name just beg to demand, “come and laugh at me”. I too debunked them many times. Anyways, this group was a bit different than what we typically get from muslim groups (i.e immediate outrage and banning) This group is all about personal ego of Mufassil Islam. The guy act like about 12 year old, when he is around his 40’s. Anyways, it was a good adventure.
Muslims just cannot debate. I was there in that group debunking Muslims. All they did was abusing when they lost or using false logic and even going against normal logic to justify miracles in Quran. At one point of time, they even rejected the tafsirs (when their lies was exposed) so that it’ll give them license to interpret the verse in whatever way they want, which will make them easy to show atheists how Quran is scientific. When all of their logic was debunked, they started abusing me, used ad hominem and started saying that I should be taken to an asylum, then started laughing. Of course, this proves how they lost and they laugh to cover their shame.
Because of their sick mind, I left the group. But, after some time, my mind changed and I gave request to join the group. The admin ignored me, so its now confirmed how they are the losers, indeed.
The admin very well knows that Muslims practically have blind faith in Islam, yet keeps on posting how Quran is full of logic and evokes rational thinking in people.
The name of the group is inappropriate. They never debunked a thing, instead their Islamic belief has been debunked many a times. Every single times they were uncomfortable by any of our questions, they tried to either distract us with something else or threaten/ban us! It seemed that their plan to debunk Atheism (although they have already debunked Atheism according to the group name)is one dimensional Islamic way of debunking. Boot out the infidels! Pathetic really. Besides the reality was just the opposite! :D
I am tempted to post this on that pathetic forum to see their reaction :D
Nicely written, David. Perhaps the claim that “Atheism debunked by Bangladeshi Muslim” is the fastest growing facebook group can be better understood when we consider how members were lured with materialistic rewards such as free Time Magazine subscription, Mobile phone sets and T shirts if they could add as many friends as possible. To me, the group was nothing but a place to showcase admin’s tremendous ego and a cozy little myspace for the muslims on facebook who would like to remain in a delusional state of mind. So i was a bit surprised when atheists went there to give the delusional mind some taste of reality.
I would like to suggest a new name to the group’s admin, the control freak Mufassil (who blocked me for reasons beyond my understanding) for his pathetic group. It’ll be
“Islam exposed by muslims who tried to debunk Atheism.”
